Peregrin Falcon Watching
Richmonders and the rest of the world can go birding without leaving their homes on a rainy day. How? Thanks to some strategically placed cameras at the McGuireWoods historic First National Bank Building located at the corner of 9th and Main Streets we can all observe a new brood of Peregrine falcons. We can watch mom and dad falcon feed and care for their young as they grow from being fuzzy white hatchlings to learning to fly the nest.

This is the third year that the falcons have returned to raise their young here. On March 15, mom falcon laid the first of four eggs. Thanks to the three cameras and McGuireWoods generously sharing their internet resources, we have the rare opportunity to view the interactions of the falcons. About the First National Bank Building
This 19-story high-rise was built in 1912 and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Perhaps the clock at the front of the building welcomed the falcons from the beginning.
